With so much distrust who knows whats really happened

A volley of U.S. cruise missiles had barely been launched into Syria before the Internet filled up with theories about the real reason for an international crisis. With Trump’s insane clown posse in charge, this is just as plausible as any other explanation.

Conspiracy theory: Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the chemical weapons massacre to help Trump — distracting Americans from an investigation into Trump’s campaign ties to Russia by provoking the missile strike.

Friday night, Lawrence O’Donnell advanced this speculation on his MSNBC show, “The Last Word.”

“Wouldn’t it be nice,” O’Donnell asked a nodding, smiling Rachel Maddow, “if it was just completely, totally, absolutely impossible to suspect that Vladimir Putin orchestrated what happened in Syria this week — so that his friend in the White House could have a big night with missiles and all the praises he’s picked up over the past 24 hours?”

The theory was impossible to rule out, O’Donnell said, because of the Trump campaign’s ties to the Russian government. A few minutes later, the host elaborated on his theory under banner text: “Wag The Dog?” — recalling a similar conspiracy theory that President Bill Clinton launched missiles in 1998 to distract from his own scandal.

“It changes the conventional wisdom about the dynamic between President Trump and Vladimir Putin,” O’Donnell said. “President Trump has finally dared to do something Vladimir Putin doesn’t like. It changes everything.”

O’Donnell didn’t offer any evidence on his theory, promising only that “you won’t hear … proof that the scenario I’ve just outlined is impossible.”

CNN reported Saturday morning that the United States is investigating whether Russia, which has long supported Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in the atrocity-filled civil war, was complicit in the chemical attack in Idlib province last week. A Kremlin spokesman denied it to the network, as has Assad’s regime.

Russia has retaliated by pulling out of an agreement designed to prevent skirmishes with the United States in the airspace over Syria which actually sort of plays in to this scenario.

We guess you just have to pick your own “alternative facts”

  1. Considering his comments on not bombing the runways….(they’d just rebuild)
Years, it takes years to build a runway that will support any large planes.
    Military experts would know that.
Maybe Trump remembers the WWII films where the Seabees would come in and roll out a prefab runway on a beach….which could handle small fighter planes. The ‘loaded’ (fighter plane with crew and ammunition) would not be over 15,000lbs (usually more like 12,000lb).
The Sukhoi Su-34 was used by Russia to assist Syria against rebel and ISIL forces.
Loaded weight: 39,000 kg (85,980 lb)
Max. takeoff weight: 45,100 kg (99,425 lb) per wiki.

This is not a good subject for me but I’ve read a little and I know that it’s the g-force on take-off that would tear a cheap runway up. One has only to drive on asphalt roads that heavy trucks use to see the effects on the roads…particularly in hot weather. So I don’t think they’re using asphalt for the runways in Syria…
How about another example closer to home? You have a slab poured for a garage floor. How long does it take to cure? And how about some of the cement freeway work….pour and wait, pour and wait.

  2. Why in the world would Trump need Putin to do what he and the minions of his regime can clearly do (and almost certainly did) themselves?

  3. But wait….didn’t Obama, Susan Rice, and John Kerry assure the world that Syria didn’t have chemical weapons ???

  4. Yep, but what we DO know… OUR government is unreliable. we need to take it back, one way or another … we shall see how much cheating goes on in 2018… we should make sure it’s ineffective…
