Eureka’s new Inovocations Policy – OMG!

In light of the radio/blog attention regarding “invocations” at council meetings and prayer breakfasts, we thought readers might find it interesting to read an email that we had posted back in February.   We have changed the “tone” of the email slightly, to show how ridiculous some of our leaders are when it comes to the separation of church and state:

Greetings Mighty Warriors!

That’s why it’sdick chency f important to join us for the January Peace Officer Breakfast this Wednesday, January 8th, 2014 at 0700 hosted by SATAN’S TEMPLE, 666 Moore Avenue (off Myrtle) in Eureka. Will you take some time out of your busy schedule to join us for a great, free hot breakfast, evil fellowship and a fresh word from SATAN? EPD Chief Andy Mills will lead the SATANIC devotional for this month. This really is a great way to start our day! If you happen to work day watch come and  join us on the taxpayer’s dime. You can leave anytime you want or need to.  If there is someone else that is not included in this email that you feel would be interested in joining our SATANIC Ritual, please let me know so we can include them too! non-denominational and all religions would be allowed to speak.  So, the Examiner would encourage local Pagans, Wiccans, Scientologist’s, Satan Worshipers, Goth Arkley worshipers and any other religions outside of the “mainstream” to contact Mayor Frank Jager and set up an invocation.

  1. Very nice. It doesn’t even have to be satanic. Just invite a Scientologist to give a nice non-denominational talk.

  2. Mitch I’m not really seeing the difference between the two?
Either way I love the point TE makes and have heard of others around the country doing the same thing, definitely encourage this and hope people document attempts to lead a talk in case the schedules always full mysteriously
